Spending the first ’90s slogging it out in New Haven, CT, the Gravel Pit - lead singer and organist Jed Parish, guitarist Lucky Jackson, bassist Ed Valauskas, and drummer Pete Caldes - eventually produced the leap in to the Boston music scene, relocating to the town in 1994.

The Band has been around for 35 years and used to play around the US (90s-2000's) with bands like CAKE, Alex Chilton (of BIG STAR), Poises, Sunny Day Real Estate, ROBYN HITCHCOK, CAMPER Van Beethoven, Jayhawks, Red House Painters, Crowded House, LISA LOEB, MATT and Kim, TV on the RADIO, Vampire Weekend Etc
The MOMMYHEADS last LP AGE OF ISOLATION charted at #29 on College and Community radio in OCT 2021and the bands last 5 lps have all charted in the top 100.
Her band plays regularly in the New England area and has opened for notable acts including the B-52s, The Motels, Juliana Hatfield, Will Dailey, and Rhett Miller Her music has been featured in Magnet, American Songwriter, the Boston Herald, and on CMT’s Cool Album Cuts, and in 2015 she received a Boston Music Award for Best Singer-Songwriter. Fueled by a pop-rock sensibility, Abbie Barrett’s songwriting is unique and unpredictable-but always something you can sing along to.
